Got leftover candy?
Turn it into another tasty treat, but first...
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.~ Henry David Thoreau

Home: Quit teaching, go off the grid, and vow to homeschool your kids. It may sound a bit much, but that’s what one mom did and she has zero regrets.
Former teacher Taylor Moran says she won’t enroll her kids in school after experiencing firsthand that the “educational system stifles [kid’s] creative function, kills the spirit and takes precious time away from other important activities.”

Instead, she does what is called “unschooling” which focuses on teaching her kids important things they need to know, and that helps them develop better overall. This includes survival skills and spending more time in nature rather than on a screen.
That may sound extreme but considering most people before this century were raised closer to that way and had better mental health… she may be on to something.
Health: When you think of “gene-editing,” you may imagine something sinister, but the modern-day applications of this type of technology are making strides in curing some diseases.
Sickle cell “causes the body’s red blood cells, usually disk-shaped, to take on a crescent or sickle shape. When this occurs, the cells can clump together, leading to clots and blockages in the blood vessels. This may result in a range of complications, including excruciating pain, trouble breathing, or stroke.”
With the help of CRISPR gene-editing technology, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, made a gene-editing drug that would eliminate the need for a bone marrow donor by changing the DNA of a patient’s blood on its own.
So far, No drug that uses CRISPR gene editing has been granted FDA approval, but the FDA is reviewing this one to see if it’s safe to move forward.
