Gut check
Your gut health matters. Here's how to take care of it this Fall
Health: Discussing gut health can be uncomfortable, but it's essential for overall well-being. A healthy gut affects metabolism, immunity, heart health, and mood. Five GI doctors shared their tips for maintaining digestive health:
Eat a Protein-Rich Breakfast: Starting the day with a protein-rich meal like Greek yogurt or a veggie and egg wrap helps maintain energy and prevents overeating later.
Add Variety to Your Diet: Incorporating diverse foods, especially fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, ensures a healthy gut microbiome, reducing the risk of conditions like type 2 diabetes.
Stay Hydrated: Drinking enough water prevents constipation and supports smooth digestion. (Bone both helps too!)
Incorporate Cardio Exercise: Regular cardio helps improve digestion and reduce bloating and constipation.
Limit NSAID Use: Overuse of NSAIDs like ibuprofen can harm the stomach lining, increasing the risk of ulcers and other issues. Use them sparingly and as directed.
Focusing on these practices can help maintain gut health and overall well-being.

Travel: Thanks to lower prices and fewer crowds, September is an ideal month for travel, as peak vacation season ends and kids return to school. This period, often called the "shoulder season," allows travelers to enjoy popular destinations more peacefully. Here are some of the 11 recommended destinations recommended for September travel:
Fiji: Experience beautiful weather, fewer crowds, and prime diving conditions, especially around Namena Island. It's also humpback whale mating season, making it perfect for wildlife enthusiasts.
Jackson Hole, Wyoming: The area is great for outdoor activities like rafting, hiking, and fly fishing, with less crowding than in summer.
Bali: Ideal for enjoying warm temperatures and low hotel rates, with attractions like temples and surfing beaches in full splendor.
Scottish Highlands: Home to the Braemar Literary Festival, this region inspires with its natural beauty and literary heritage.
Toronto, Canada: The Toronto International Film Festival in September is a must-visit for film lovers, offering a preview of potential Oscar-winning movies.
These destinations offer unique experiences that are enhanced by traveling in the less-crowded shoulder season of September.
