Debate debacle
Keep your pets safe this holiday
“America is another name for opportunity.”— Ralph Waldo Emerson
🇺🇸 Debate: Maybe you watched it, maybe your social media feed has been swarmed with clips and comments about it, but it’s certainly been top of mind for many because let’s face it…
The debate was eye opening about the President’s ability to run a second term and a notable shift is emerging within the Democratic Party.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has been quietly indicating to colleagues that Harris would be the optimal choice if Biden opts out of the race. Rep. James E. Clyburn, a senior House member and longtime Biden ally, has publicly declared his support for Harris should Biden step aside, urging fellow Democrats to bolster her position regardless of her role on the ticket.
In a recent call with House Democratic leadership, led by Jeffries, discussions about potential alternatives to Biden revealed a consensus: Harris is the most viable option. This growing support for Harris as a potential nominee, even as Biden remains the primary candidate, suggests that Democrats are preparing for a scenario without Biden as the party’s figurehead. Concerns about Harris's ability to win the White House are being reconsidered, especially in light of Biden’s recent struggles.
From a practical standpoint, with Election Day drawing closer, selecting a candidate other than Harris could present significant legal, political, and financial challenges. As Democrats continue to deliberate, there are signs that Harris’s potential rivals within the party are stepping back or being encouraged to do so. Figures like Whitmer and Newsom are expected to support Harris, enhancing the likelihood of a unified front.
As discussions intensify, a growing number of Democrats envision a smooth transition to a Harris-led ticket, especially with Biden’s endorsement.
🐶 Pet Safety: Do you keep your pets inside at night? If not, you might want to consider it this week.
While we humans tend to enjoy setting off fireworks and enjoying the display, our pets tend to not do so well with the loud sounds so close to home. The 4th of July weekend sees as high as a 60% increase in lost pets at animals shelters throughout the US.
Independence Day isn’t the only day to keep your furry pet babies close. Since people can light off fireworks throughout the weekend, it’s good to keep them indoors. As an extra precaution, it may be worth running to get your pet an ID collar or better yet, get them chipped if you haven’t already.
