When AI meets Fashion

Happy Leap Day

“If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.”― Mark Twain

Fashion: Fashion and AI: A match made in heaven? During a chic gathering at London Fashion Week hosted by Vogue Business, representatives from Amazon Fashion and the All Saints Group spilled the beans on their strategies for staying ahead of the curve.

Ruth Diaz, the fashion maven behind Amazon Fashion Europe, gushed about the game-changing role of AI: "AI is helping in very practical terms to reduce costs, drastically increase productivity and accuracy, and create a much better and different shopping experience."

From personalized size suggestions to analyzing customer reviews, AI is reshaping the fashion game.

Diaz spilled the tea on how Amazon Fashion is using generative AI to boost product visibility, streamline the supply chain, and predict demand like never before. Wood, on the other hand, is dreaming big with augmented reality and generative AI, envisioning a future where designing a store is as easy as playing a virtual reality game.

However, Diaz and Wood aren't forgetting the human touch. They're adamant that technology should enhance—not replace—the brand's core values and customer experience.

In a world where trends change faster than runway shows, one thing's for sure: Fashion's future is looking tech-tastic.

Beauty: The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed a lawsuit against a beauty manufacturing company in Illinois, alleging disability discrimination.

According to the lawsuit, the company terminated a worker's employment on her first day after discovering she was deaf. Despite being qualified for the job, the worker was dismissed, violating the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which mandates reasonable accommodations for disabilities.

The company denied the allegations but agreed to a settlement of $75,000, including back pay and compensatory damages. Additionally, the company committed to providing annual disability discrimination training to supervisory staff.

The EEOC emphasized that decisions based on stereotypes about a person's disability are unlawful, and employers must assess an individual's ability to perform job functions safely, potentially with accommodations.
