1,000+ Cancelled Flights ✈️
The snow's lasting a bit longer than we thought...
Travel: Haylin Urbanowski's journey from Tampa, Florida, to San Diego turned into an unexpected adventure as severe winter weather wreaked havoc on her travel plans. Southwest Airlines, plagued by a series of seven 😨 delays, eventually canceled her flight, stranding the 18-year-old in Austin.
Despite the challenges, the airline managed to rebook her on an early morning flight, providing a hotel voucher, a $200 flight voucher, and a $25 Uber credit. However, navigating the rideshare stand in freezing temperatures proved futile, leading Urbanowski to spend the night at the airport.

The ordeal highlights the widespread flight disruptions affecting numerous travelers this week, with nearly 1,100 cancellations and over 6,100 delays reported in the U.S. The impact was most significant for United Airlines, which scrapped 233 flights, constituting 9% of its schedule.
As winter weather continues to grip the nation, airlines, including Alaska, American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, Spirit, and United, have issued waivers to accommodate affected passengers.
The Department of Transportation outlines compensation guidelines for cancellations due to controllable reasons, emphasizing rebooking, meal provisions, hotel accommodations, and ground transportation for affected passengers.
However, the lack of federal laws mandating compensation for flight delays puts the onus on individual airlines, each defining significant delays differently so it’s all a bit up in the air 😬
Beauty: Winter hits, and suddenly our skin becomes a battleground for harsh elements—snow, wind, and more. Picture yourself conquering the slopes, but your skin bears the brunt of it all—dryness, windburn, and sunburn, oh my!

Board-certified dermatologist Blair Murphy-Rose warns that the snowy climate, coupled with winter sports, unleashes chaos on our precious skin. High altitudes play their part too, making our skin more susceptible to irritation, redness, and dullness. It's like a skincare saga set against the snowy backdrop.
But fear not, brave soul! The solution lies in a skincare routine tailored for the snow-kissed adventurer. Dr. Murphy-Rose advises us to treat our skin like royalty, pampering it before and after our frosty escapades. From vitamin C serums to emollient moisturizers and the fortress of SPF, we've got your back (and face).
And when the day on the slopes ends, don't neglect your skin's post-battle recovery.
Gentle cleansers, moisture galore, and restoring your skin's barrier—it's like a spa day for your face. So, gear up, face the winter wilderness, and let your skin revel in its post-snow glow.
